Principles of Risk Assessment

A risk assessment is an important step in protecting your workers and your business, as well as complying with the law. Regulation 3 of the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations requires every employer, and self-employed person, to make a suitable and sufficient assessment of the risks associated with their undertaking.

This 1-day course is aimed at persons responsible for carrying out risk assessments in the workplace. It is designed to equip candidates with the knowledge required to enable them to carry out a suitable and sufficient risk assessment in their workplace and have the opportunity to practice the application of this knowledge using systems & formats that can easily be applied in their workplace.

- Accident Causation
- Moral, legal and economic reasons for preventing accidents and ill health at work
- General Principles of Risk Assessments
- Factors that can affect the level of risks in the workplace
- Hazard identification
- Evaluating Risk
- Recording your assessment
- Control measures and their implementation
- Monitor & Review of Risk Assessments

Upon successful completion, candidates will be issued with an erfa e-certificate that can be downloaded and printed at home/work. This qualification has no expiry date; however it is recommended that candidates undertake refresher training every three years to ensure they remain up to date with current practices and legislation.
