Classroom Learning

The Paediatric First Aid (RQF) course has been specifically designed to meet the criteria set by the Department for Education’s EYFS Framework. The Framework requires all early years providers in England to have at least one person with a current and full paediatric first aid certificate to be on the premises and available at all times when children are present and must accompany children on outings.

This paediatric course is delivered over 2 days and includes both theory and practical activities. During the classroom-based learning candidates will be assessed on the practical elements and are required to complete two multiple choice examinations.

Upon successful completion and examination, candidates will be issued with an e-certificate that can be downloaded and printed at home/work. This qualification is valid for three years, however HSE guidelines recommend that first aiders undertake annual refresher training to ensure they remain competent to perform their role. Once three years has passed candidates must attend another paediatric course to maintain their qualification.
