Once qualified, holders of the First Aid at Work certificate can be used as First Aiders in the workplace in accordance with the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations.
The First Aid at Work course is delivered over 18 hours and includes online learning, theory and practical assessments. Candidates must complete the e-learning modules before attending the practical days and can do this at a time convenient to them. Access to the online content will be given 4 weeks prior to the practical days. During the classroom-based learning candidates will be assessed on the practical elements and are required to complete two multiple choice examinations.
Upon successful completion and examination, candidates will be issued with an e-certificate that can be downloaded and printed at home/work. This qualification is valid for three years, however HSE guidelines recommend that first aiders undertake annual refresher training to ensure they remain competent to perform their role. Once three years has passed candidates can attend a First aid at work requalification course to maintain their qualification.
Day 1 of this course is completed using an online platform that incorporates ultra-high quality video production and fully immersive quizzes and activities.
